| As an artist I am impassioned by painting portraits and the figure and as a person I need to express the primary emotions of human existence we all feel. There is an interactive element evident as we are voyeur to the paintings, and they reflect experiences and emotions that are part of our daily existence, our "Paradise." Through the use of light and settings, body language, dress, expressions and other devices, the figures tell their stories of isolation, frustration, anger, despair, regret and jealousy. There is a universal aspect to these emotions and through our similar experiences, which emphasize the universal connection among us all. |
